Inspiration from The Book of Luke & The Book of Matthew
This painting shows an abstract image of Jesus holding a scroll of The Book of Isaiah, as well as an abstract image of Christ’s face.
I was inspired to show Christ preaching in the synagogue and holding the scroll of Isaiah 61. Isaiah 61 is painted in Hebrew on the scroll. Christ was telling everyone that the scriptures Isaiah had written was now being fulfilled and they laughed at Him and made fun of who He was claiming to be. Jesus was in His hometown of Nazareth, and they couldn’t believe that a He could be the Messiah. The scriptures don’t say that Jesus actual wept while being Rejected that day in the synagogue, and nearly getting thrown off a cliff but I was led to depict that. I could only imagine that He did weep after all of that. The Spirit of The Lord revealed to me that Christ weeps when Rejected by the world today. He longs to be your Lord and Savior, and desperately wants everyone to live a life of excellence; fulfilled in everyway. Stop Rejecting Him and His Love, and let’s stop the tears of Christ by accepting His Love.
